Małaszewicze [ Mawaʂɛvʲit͡ʂɛ ] is a village in the rural community of Terespol , in district Biala Podlaska , Lublin province , in eastern Poland , near the border with Belarus . It is located about nine kilometers southwest of Terespol , 28 kilometers east of Biała Podlaska and 108 kilometers northeast of the regional capital Lublin . The village had 1664 inhabitants in 2011.
Małaszewicze is home to one of the largest multimodal logistics centers for cargo handling of international importance in Poland and Europe. In the freight yard of Małaszewicze, freight trains are switched from Russian broad gauge (1520 mm) to Central European standard gauge (1435 mm) or their freight is reloaded. Małaszewicze is also the easternmost EU freight station for block train traffic from Central Europe to China .
