Maarten Albert Vente

Maarten Albert Vente (born June 7, 1915 in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel , † July 1989 ) was a Dutch musicologist and organ expert .

Live and act

Vente studied musicology, geography and history at the University of Utrecht . In 1942 he received his doctorate. From 1958 he worked at the University of Utrecht. In 1959 he became a curator and in 1965 a lecturer in instrument science . In 1979 he was appointed professor . He was also the organist at the university.

In 1961 Vente was elected secretary at the 2nd Congress of the International Society of Organbuilders in Strasbourg. He held this honorary position until his resignation in 1986.
