Georg Anton Machein
Georg Anton Machein (born June 10, 1685 in Großprüfening near Regensburg , † March 22, 1739 in Überlingen ) was a German sculptor and wood carver . His main work is the choir stalls of the former monastery church Schussenried in Upper Swabia.
Life
Machein was born the son of a shoemaker. His younger brother Johann Machein (er) (* 1696) also became a sculptor.
Machein was based in Marchtal as a sculptor from 1709 , then in Schussenried to manufacture the choir stalls . In 1716 he successfully applied for citizenship in the imperial city of Überlingen .
