Winterstettendorf is a suburb of Ingoldingen in the Biberach district in Upper Swabia .

description

The clustered village is located in the headwaters of the Warmen Riss on the K 7550, which connects Michelwinnaden with Winterstettenstadt . Originally in the territory of the Lords of Winterstetten (1191), the place gradually came into the possession of Waldburg-Waldsee . The patronage rights lay in 1255 with the Baindt women's monastery , which was built in 1240 after a donation from the Reichsschenken Konrad von Winterstetten . The Austrian Duke Albrecht IV handed over the patronage rights to the Schussenried monastery in 1308. The whole time the jurisdiction was with the Upper Landvogtei Swabia in Altdorf. On May 30, 1709, due to lack of money, Waldburg-Waldsee sold the village for 20,332 guilders to the Schussenried monastery , where it remained until 1803. After a brief interlude in the holdings of the Count von Sternberg-Manderscheid, it was incorporated into the Kingdom of Württemberg and became a Köngl there. Assigned to Oberamt Waldsee . Winterstettendorf has been part of Ingoldingen since December 1st, 1974.

There is a kindergarten in the community. The music associations of Winterstettendorf, Winterstettenstadt and, since 2016, Oberessendorf have trained their young musicians in the youth band Winterstettendorf-Oberessendorf-Winterstettenstadt (WOW).
