history

Grodt was mentioned in 1267 in a donation from Count Heinrich von Burgau, in which he gave the Salem monastery to the widow of Berthold von Grodt . In 1277 Berthold von Schefoldsegg is mentioned as the owner of the castle and lord of Grodt. In 1409 ownership changed to the Buchau women's monastery . The rights were shared with Biberach an der Riss . In 1645 the monastery received all rights.

In 1806 Grodt was assigned to the Kingdom of Württemberg .

A planned merger with Ingoldingen did not materialize before the Second World War. It was only incorporated on June 1, 1972.
