Untersulmetingen is a district of Laupheim in the Biberach district in eastern Baden-Württemberg .
Geographical location
The district includes the village of Untersulmetingen and the hamlets of Niederkirch and Westerflach and is largely west of the Riss , which flows into the Danube about nine kilometers north of the center of the village . The village of Untersulmetingen and the Niederkirch, which has grown together with it in the north, are on the west bank, Westerflach about one and a half kilometers west of the river on a flat hilly landscape. On the east bank opposite the village there is a more recent industrial park. The approximately 5 km long Schlaibach flows through the village into the Riss, at the center of the settlement of Niederkirch the Aischbach, with its longest upper course, is hardly longer .
Culture and sights
The village image is shaped by the St. Georg and Sebastian church, popularly known as Niederkirch , in the hamlet of Niederkirch, which has now grown together with the village, and the monumental castle in the center of the village with the St. Otmar chapel .
The Upper Swabian Way of St. James leads through the village from Ulm to Constance .
history
