The Macklot mistletoe ( Dicaeum maugei ) is a Southeast Asian representative of the passerine birds.

features

The head and back are black, as are eyes and beak. The red throat and a black stripe that runs vertically across the center of the white breast are striking.

Occurrence and habitat

The macklot mistletoe is found on the Southeast Asian islands of Lombok , Nusa Penida , Salajar , Jampea , Timor , Sawu , Atauro , Roti , Leti , Babar , Damar and Romang . On Atauro it occurs regularly all over the island, especially in the plantations of the villages, where it often eats figs and blossoms of the tamarind tree .
