Mads Christiansen (born May 3, 1986 in Næstved ) is a Danish handball player .

The 1.94 meters tall and 92 kilograms heavy right back player initially played for GOG Svendborg TGI and AaB Håndbold . From summer 2011 he was under contract with Team Tvis Holstebro . From the 2013/14 season he ran for Bjerringbro-Silkeborg . With Bjerringbro-Silkeborg he won the championship in 2016. From summer 2016 he was under contract with the German Bundesliga club SC Magdeburg . He has been playing for the Danish club Aalborg Håndbold since the 2019/20 season . With Aalborg he won the Danish championship in 2020.

For the Danish national team he has played 117 international matches so far , in which he scored 257 goals. He was in the extended squad for the 2011 World Cup . A year later Christiansen took part in the 2012 European Championship , which Denmark won. At the 2014 European Championships in his own country, he was runner-up in Europe. He won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
