Sheikh Majid bin Muhammad bin Raschid Al Maktum ( Arabic ماجد بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم, DMG Māǧid b. Muḥammad b. Rāšid Āl Maktūm , English transcription Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum ; * October 16, 1987 ) is currently Chairman of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority and the fifth eldest son of Sheikh Muhammad bin Raschid Al Maktum .

Career

Sheikh Majid began his education at the Rashid School for Boys . He later went to Great Britain to attend the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst . He then attended some military camps and leadership seminars. In March 2008 he received his current position as director of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority . On November 18, 2009, Sheikh Majid received a master's degree in security and crisis management from the Dubai Police Academy .

Sports

Sheikh Majid is active in various sports, especially horse racing and football . He regularly takes part in championships. In 2007 he won a gold medal in the individual competition and a gold medal in the team competition in the discipline of endurance riding at the 11th Pan-Arab Games in Cairo . At the World Endurance Championships in Malaysia in 2008 , he was fourth in the individual competition. In 2010 he and his team won gold at the World Equestrian Games in Lexington , where he finished sixth in the individual standings. At the World Endurance Championships in 2012 in the United Kingdom , this team won again and Sheikh Majid finished sixth in the individual standings, just like two years earlier. In addition to these successes in equestrian sports, he was named Vice President of the Al Wasl Sports Club due to his love of football .
