Magdalena Łapaj-Jagow (* 1988 in Poznan ) is a Polish alto and soprano saxophonist .

Łapaj began her saxophone training with Dorota Samsel at the Staatliches Musiklyzeum in Poznań and continued it at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin with Detlef Bensmann and at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Daniel Gauthier (Diplom) and Sebastian Pottmeier (Master of Music in the subject of saxophone solo). As an Erasmus student , she took lessons from Claude Delangle at the Paris Conservatory , and attended master classes a. a. by Arno Bornkamp , Dominique Tassot , Ed Bogaard , Joël Versavaud , Radek Knop , Christian Wirth and Lars Mlekusch . At the International Saxophone Competition in Metz she received first prize in the Jeunesse solists category , the Grand Prix at the International Leo Ballan Competition in Paris and the second prize for the interpretation of new music in Karlsruhe.

In 2004 she made her debut as a soloist with the Brandenburg Chamber Orchestra in Berlin under the direction of Rainer Johannes Kimstedt ; In 2012 she performed with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Frank Strobel . With Dominic Childs , Enrico Taubmann and Frank Riedel she founded the Forseti Saxophone Quartet, which focuses on the performance of works by contemporary composers. From 2014 to 2016 she was a member of the Alliage Quintet. With the quintet she worked with musicians such as the singer Simone Kermes and the violinist József Lendvay and recorded the CD Fantasia with the clarinetist Sabine Meyer in 2016 . She also worked on several radio and television productions. Concerts and festivals have taken her to Poland, Germany, France, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Canada and the USA.
