Movie Edit Pro is a paid, designed for home users video editing software company Magix . The program was first published in 2001 and is considered the best-selling video software in Europe . The current version is called Magix Movie Edit Pro 2017, whereby the year is no longer an official part of the program name. Movie Edit Pro is available in more than 10 languages, including a. German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Finnish, Swedish, Japanese, Russian, Greek and Portuguese, but some of these languages are not up to date.
It is offered in three versions with different functions: Movie Edit Pro, Movie Edit Pro Plus and Movie Edit Pro Premium. For professional requirements, there is also the Video Pro X software based on the same platform.
Version 17 of the program, released in 2010 (in the Plus and Premium versions), is the world's first video editing program for consumers that can process 3D recordings .
With the Magix Movie Edit Pro 2015 version, 4K videos and 3D videos (plus and premium versions) can also be cut. From version 2016 you can also edit 360 ° videos.
In the English-speaking world, the software is called Magix Movie Edit Pro .

Audio plug-ins from other programs can be integrated ( VST ). If the hardware is fast enough, you can preview in real time. Movie Edit Pro uses the Ligos encoder ( MPEG - encoder ) up to version 2006 . The encoder has been tested variously in specialist magazines (including c't) and has received satisfactory to good grades. Between version 2006/2007 and 2014 the encoder from "MainConcept" was used. From version 2015, the standard codec in Movie Edit Pro comes from Intel .
From version 2006/2007, HDV material can be recorded and processed directly by HDV cameras.
The finished video can be exported or burned to DVD or Blu-ray Disc using an interactive menu . Surround sound in the 5.1 format can be integrated with a Dolby Digital encoder , several sound tracks with a selection menu are possible.
The price for Movie Edit Pro is between 69.99 euros and 129.99 euros in its own online shop, depending on the version. The toolbar from ask.com and the “simplicheck” program are no longer installed by default as of version 2015. The “Pro X” version is available for around 400 euros.
