Mahaica-Berbice is a northeastern region in Guyana . The region is bordered to the north by the Atlantic Ocean , to the east by the region East Berbice-Corentyne , to the region Upper Demerara-Berbice to the south and the region Demerara-Mahaica to the west. In the region there are the towns of Rosignol , Fort Wellington , Mahaicony and Helena . The Mahaica flows along the western border of the region, the Berbice along the eastern border. The Mahaicony and Abary Rivers flow from south to north.
