Demerara-Mahaica is a region in northern Guyana with an area of 2,232 km².
The region is bordered to the north by the Atlantic Ocean , to the region Mahaica-Berbice to the east, the region Upper Demerara-Berbice to the south and to the region Essequibo Islands-West Demerara in the West. In the region lies the capital of Guyana, Georgetown . Other towns in the region are Buxton , Enmore , Victoria and Paradise .
