Mahda (also Mahdah or Mahadah) is a village with about 2000 inhabitants in the Sultanate of Oman . Mahda is located on the border with the United Arab Emirates and not far from the governorate capital Buraimi . The Hajar Mountains surround the place. The village can be reached via branches on Route 5 and Route 7 . Mahda is administratively also a wilaya of Buraimi governorate . The administrative district has a size of 3264 km² and a population of 8373 people.
In December 2016, the construction of a two-lane road between Mahda and Rowdha started. The trunk road has a length of 60 kilometers and is to be built according to the most modern traffic safety standards. Mahda lies at the intersection of two wadis . The Wadi Al Qahfi and the Wadi Sharm meet here. The Wadi Al Qahfi is mainly used by locals as an excursion destination, while the Wadi Sharm is even home to a 4-star resort. In January 2018 the palm plague broke out in Wilaya. The country built quarantine zones to curb the spread.
