The Mainzer Berg , actually Großer Mainzer Berg , in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Bad Dürkheim is 403.5 m above sea level. NHN high mountain near Weidenthal in the Middle Palatinate Forest , but is almost exclusively in the urban area of Bad Dürkheim .
Geographical location
Although it is only about 700 m away from the outskirts of Weidenthal , the Mainzer Berg is in the outskirts of Bad Dürkheim . At its west foot in the valley of the Hochspeyerbach lies the Weidentahler residential area Mainzertal . The mountain is completely forested with mixed forest .
Traffic and walking
The 212 m long Mainzer Berg Tunnel of the Palatinate Ludwig Railway, which was driven through red sandstone during the construction of the railway line between 1845 and 1849 , runs through the southwest flank of the Mainzer Berg above the Hochspeyerbach .
