Make It Bun Dem is a song by the US dubstep producer Skrillex together with the Jamaican reggae singer Damian Marley . The song was first released on Marley's Soundcloud account on April 16, 2012 , where it was listened to more than 500,000 times in two weeks, and then released on iTunes on May 1. It was written by Marley and Skrillex themselves and shortly after its publication it reached number 66 in the UK, number 34 in Canada and number 33 in the Belgian charts.
The song begins like the song Liquor Store Blues by Bruno Mars with Marley singing "Now greetings to the world".
A music video for the song, which was released on September 6, 2012, is available on the Skrillex official YouTube channel. The song itself, after being released on Soundcloud , was released on Skrillex's official YouTube channel on April 19, 2012 .
Before the song was released, a demo version called Rudeboy Bass was released.

Chart success
The song could only hit the charts in the UK. It entered the top 75 of the official charts at number 66, but had to leave the top 75 again after a week. It was also able to reach the Top 40 Dance Charts. It rose to number 14 and stayed in the charts for a total of 6 weeks. The last placement that Make It Bun Dem had there was number 34.

criticism
The song got mixed reviews. Alistair Martin, for example, said about the song:
"I'm a huge fan of both Damian Marley and Skrillex and I have to admit that this song was pretty disappointing. Hopefully I'll just be too drunk to care next time it comes on. "
and gave a rather negative review.
Trivia
The song can be heard in the first person shooter Far Cry 3 during a mission in which one is supposed to burn down cannabis plantations with a flame thrower and the visual perception is impaired by the resulting cannabis consumption.
