Wolfgang Gartner

Wolfgang Gartner (* 17th March 1982 in San Luis Obispo , civil Joseph Youngman ) is a Grammy-nominated American Electro-House - producer and DJ . His music has been compared to the style of Deadmau5 and Justice . Many of his songs were released through his own label, Kindergarten, but in 2010 he signed a deal with Ultra Records .

Career

Joey Youngman chose the name Wolfgang Gartner after having been only moderately successful as a deep house DJ in 2007 under a different name . Because he didn't want any criticism for such a radical change in style, he did it anonymously. Gartner's identity finally became public in July 2008. In 2010 Gartner made his debut on the show BBC Radio 1 ’s Essential Mix Series, hosted by DJ / producer Pete Tong . In January 2011 he released his single, "Illmerica." There he announced that Eric Haze was designing his graffiti logo. In the same month Gartner was nominated for four "International Dance Music Awards", including "Best Electro / Tech House Track", "Best Progressive Track", "Best Breakthrough DJ" and "Best Breakthrough Artist". In spring 2011, his single "Forever" was released in collaboration with will.i.am . In the same year he took part in the song The Devil's Den by the three-time Grammy artist Skrillex . In 2012, Gartner was ranked 7th Best Resident DJ in the United States.

In his relatively short time as a DJ, eight of his songs became number 1 hits on the Beatport Top 10 charts. Gartner has participated in festivals like Coachella 2010 and Electric Daisy Carnival 2010 and toured around the world.
