More Monsters and Sprites is the third EP from electro , dubstep and brostep producer Skrillex and his first remix album . On June 7, 2011 it was first released on Beatport under the labels Big Beat Records and mau5trap Recordings . On June 21st of this year the EP was released in other online MP3 shops. The EP is the follow-up to Skrillex's second EP Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites , four remixes of songs from this EP are included in More Monsters and Sprites . The remixes are from Dirtyphonics , Phonat , The Juggernauts and Kaskade . In addition, 3 new songs are included. The music style of the EP is mainly dubstep and electro, but there are also influences from reggae .

The album could reach the charts in Australia and in the USA . The first single from this album, First of the Year (Equinox) , became the album's most successful single, reaching the charts in five countries. Another release from this album was Ruffneck (Full Flex) .

Chart success

The album hit the charts in the US. In the USA, they reached number 124 on the Billboard Top 200, number three in the Heatseeker Albums and number 5 in the Top Electronic Albums . You could also place yourself in the charts in Australia, the album made it to number 60.

Critical reception

The album received mostly positive reviews. David Jeffries from Allmusic, for example, said: "Shame the man's debut album got stolen along with his laptop, but this tides things over nicely." And rated the album with 3.5 out of 5 stars.
