The KK Makino Furaisu Seisakujo ( Japanese 株式会社 牧野 フ ラ イ ス 製作 所 , Kabushiki-gaisha ~ , German “ Milling Production Plant Makino”, English Makino Milling Machine Co., Ltd. ) is a Japanese manufacturer of machine tools for parts production as well as for tool and mold making with a variety of applications for the aerospace, automotive, construction and agricultural machinery, industrial components and microtechnology sectors.

history

The company was founded in May 1937 by Tsunezō Makino ( 牧野 常 造 ) as Makino Shōten Seisakubu ( 牧野 商店 製作 部 , "Production Department , Makino Shop") for the manufacture of milling machines and in March 1942 in Makino Kata Furaisu Seisakujo ( 牧野 堅 フ ラ イ ス 製作 , Renamed " Vertical Milling Plant Makino", Makino Vertical Milling Machine ). In May 1951 it was organized as a stock corporation and in April 1961 it was renamed to its current name. Japan's first NC milling machine was manufactured in 1958 .

1978 took place a capital participation in the German Heidenreich und Harbeck GmbH and the opening of a production there. In 2000 a second German location was established in Kirchheim unter Teck . The European headquarters of Makino Europe GmbH is in Hamburg with P. Anders Ingemarsson as President and CEO.

In 1967 the Atsugi production facility was built, but is not located in Atsugi , but in neighboring Aikawa . Since 1987 it has also been produced in Katsuyama (incorporated into Fujikawaguchiko ). Another production facility is located in Singapore .
