Makoto Kawahira ( Japanese 川 平 誠 , Kawahira Makoto ; born August 25, 1971 in Tomakomai , Hokkaidō ) is a former Japanese ice hockey player and coach .
Career
Makoto Kawahira spent his entire career as a hockey player with the Ōji Eagles , for which he was active from 1990 to 2006 - first in the Japan Ice Hockey League and from 2003 to 2006 in the multinational Asia League Ice Hockey . In the 1990/91 and 1993/94 seasons he won the Japanese championship with his team. In the 2005/06 season he was player-coach for the Eagles.
International
For Japan Kawahira took part in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano . He was also in his country's squad at the B World Cup in 1993 and the A World Cup in 2001 .
