Maksim Babitschau ( Belarusian Максім Бабічаў , Russian Максим Бабичев Maxim Babitschew ; born March 7, 1986 in Minsk , Belarusian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Belarusian handball player who is mostly used as a runner .

Career

The 2.00 m tall and 100 kg heavy right-handed player began playing handball in his hometown near Arkatron Minsk , where he also made his debut in the 2002/03 European Cup Winners' Cup . At the end of the season he was able to celebrate the championship and the cup. From the 2004/05 season he ran for the university team BGUFK Minsk . His most successful season there was in 2006/07 when he reached the 3rd round in the EHF Cup . He then played again for a year for Arkatron. In 2008 he moved to HC Dinamo Minsk . With Dinamo he won five other championships and two cup wins. Internationally, he made it to the quarter-finals of the EHF Cup 2011/12 and the second round of the EHF Champions League 2012/13 . After the failure of several sponsors, Minsk withdrew from all competitions in February 2014 and released all players. Babitschau then moved to Brest GK Meschkow , with whom he won the championship and the Belarusian Cup in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

With the Belarusian national team , Maksim Babitschau took part in the 2008 European Championship , the 2013 World Championship and the 2014 European Championship . So far, he has played 134 international matches in which he scored 230 goals.
