Maksim Warabej ( Belarusian Максім Варабей ; born December 10, 1995 in Barysau ) is a Belarusian biathlete.

Career

Warabej started for the first time in the IBU Cup 2014/15 in Beitostølen and was 78 in the sprint race. At the 2015 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Minsk , Warabej finished eighth in the individual. With his teammates Alek Litwinski , Jauheni Lipai and Wiktar Kryuko , the season finished fifth. After good performances at the Biathlon Junior World Championships in 2016 , where he just missed the medals in fourth in the sprint, Warabej made his World Cup debut. In Canmore , Canada , he finished 19th in the sprint after shooting faultlessly, which is still his best World Cup result to this day. As a treatment, he was allowed to compete at the 2016 Biathlon World Championships in Oslo . In the sprint, he could not quite build on his achievements and was only 79. Nevertheless, Warabej was able to establish himself in the World Cup team of the Belarusians. However, his best result (33rd at the pre-Olympic World Cup in Pyeongchang) did not come close to his best. The highlight was the 2018 Winter Olympics . However, he was only used in singles, where he was 39th. After mixed performances, Maksim Warabej started in the IBU Cup at the beginning of the 2018/19 season .
