Malte Schwarz (born March 30, 1989 in Kiel ) is a former German basketball player. He played mainly in the position of shooting guard. He played 252 games in the basketball league .

Career

Malte Schwarz came to TuS Holstein Quickborn at the age of twelve through his brother Kristof , who was two years older than him. In 2006 he played for Bramfelder SV in the youth basketball league . Thanks to a double license, he also played for the first team in the 2nd regional league. In 2007, Schwarz moved to the 1st Regional League for SC Rist Wedel , but continued to play in the NBBL for Bramfelder SV. For the 2008/09 season, the now 19-year-old shooting guard moved with his brother to the then second division team Phoenix Hagen and rose with him to the 1st basketball division . In addition, Black was invited by the then U20 national team coach Henrik Rödl to a screening course for the U20 national team. However, due to the injury, he was unable to perceive it. In the squad of the U20 national team for the European Championship 2009, Black was available as a substitute player. In addition to the games in the 1st basketball league, Schwarz also played for BG Hagen in the 1st regional league. In June 2010 the contract with Phoenix Hagen was finally extended for a further year. In 2011, Schwarz was signed by the ProA in the basketball league of the Central German BC for the "Mission recovery" . In May 2012, he signed a contract with the MBC until 2014, which he extended prematurely for another season in 2013. In the 2013/14 season, Black recorded the highest average of his Bundesliga time with 7.4 points per game.

For the 2015/2016 season, Schwarz moved to league competitor BG Göttingen , but returned to the Central German Basketball Club in 2017. In the summer break of 2018, the Iserlohn Kangaroos from the 2nd Bundesliga announced ProB Schwarz 'commitment. Schwarz became his older brother Kristof's teammate again in Iserlohn. At the beginning of April 2020, Schwarz, who was studying computer science, announced that he would retire from competitive sports in order to devote himself to his professional advancement.

Others

His father, Roger Schwarz , was a referee in the BBL until 2005. In 2012 he ended his referee career. His mother, Monika Schwarz, also played basketball. His brother Kristof Schwarz played for Hagen, Crailsheim and Iserlohn, among others.
