Malungsfors is a crime scene in the municipality of Malung-Sälen in the Swedish province of Dalarnas län and the historic province of Dalarna . Malungsfors counted 574 inhabitants in 2015.
The place is about ten kilometers northwest of the main town of the municipality - Malung - on the banks of the Västerdalälven . Riksväg 66 leads through Malungsfors in the direction of Sälen to the Norwegian border. The train station on Västerdalsbanan had not been used since 2001 - the traffic already ended in Malung. The timber loading terminal has been reactivated since 2017 and rail traffic is to be resumed in summer 2019.
Malungsfors is known for the annual show festival, at which up to 1500 visitors are expected.
