Mammillaria roseoalba is a species of the genus Mammillaria in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet roseoalba means '(Latin roseoalbus) pink-white'.
description
Mammillaria roseoalba grows individually. The depressed, spherical shoots are 8 to 10 centimeters in diameter and up to 6 centimeters high. The clearly angular, somewhat chilled warts have plenty of milky juice . Central spines are completely absent. The 4 to 5 radial spines, rarely up to six, are curved, unevenly needle-like, whitish with a pink base and up to 8 millimeters long.
The whitish flowers are up to 3 inches long and large in diameter. The club-shaped fruits are red and up to 1.5 centimeters long. They contain brown seeds .
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Mammillaria roseoalba is common in the Mexican states of Tamaulipas , Coahuila , Nuevo León, and San Luis Potosí .
It was first described in 1929 by Friedrich Bödeker .
In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is called " Data Deficient (DD) ", i. H. with insufficient data.
