Mammoet ( German  Mammut ) is a Dutch company that specializes in lifting and transporting heavy objects. The main areas of application are the construction of structures and rescue operations. The company has been wholly owned by SHV Holdings since 2011 .

With the help of self-propelled modular transporters , the company works on land and on water, on inland waters as well as offshore . When building structures, Mammoet is able to place large objects in the petrochemical industry and bridges in a short time.

The company was founded in 1971 by the three companies Goedkoop from Amsterdam (bulk transport, towing and inland waterway shipping), Van Wezel from Hengelo (international heavy transport over land) and Stoof from Breda (heavy transport over land). Since 2001 Mammoet maintains in Schiedam an office building that bears the name De Bolder (dt. Bollards ) bears. The company also has offices in North and South America, South Africa, the Middle East, Australia and East Asia.

On May 1, 1973, Mammoet Transport (65%) and the shipping company Koninklijke Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij (35%) founded the heavy lift shipping company Mammoet Shipping . This was sold to the Spliethoff shipping group in Amsterdam in 2000 and operates under the name BigLift .

On January 8, 2020, Mammoet took over the Belgian company ALE.
