Manay is a metropolitan community in the Davao Oriental Province and is located on Mindanao Island in the Philippines . It has 42,690 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 17 barangays . It belongs to the second income bracket of the communities in the Philippines and is described as partially urbanized .
The municipality of Manay is located on the east coast of Mindanao Island approx. 54 km north of the provincial capital Mati City , and can be reached from there via the coastal road. The municipality occupies an area of 540.51 km².
