Governor Generoso is a metropolitan municipality in the Davao Oriental Province and is located on Mindanao Island in the Philippines . It has 55,109 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 20 barangays .
The municipality of Governor Generoso is located about 140 km southeast of Davao City on the St. Augustin peninsula and can be reached from there via the coastal road on the Gulf of Davao . The community covers an area of 374.25 km² and the terrain is dominated by the Hamiguitan mountain range , which rises to 1620 meters above sea level.
