Banaybanay is a metropolitan community in the Davao Oriental Province and is located on Mindanao Island in the Philippines . It has 41,117 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 14 barangays .
The community of Banaybanay is about 90 km east of Davao City International Airport and can be reached from there via the coastal road on the Gulf of Davao . The municipality occupies an area of 419.30 km² and the terrain is very mountainous.
