Manfred Baumann (born December 9, 1956 in Hallein ) is an Austrian journalist , author , cabaret artist and ORF editor.

Life

Education and professional career

Baumann studied German and journalism at the University of Salzburg . While still a student, he began working for ORF Salzburg, as a program editor and author. In 1994 he built up the radio trailer editorial team and took on the development and broadcast responsibility for the culture magazine Papageno , and in 1998 he set up the creative editorial team. He also became head of programming. Since 2010 he has also been head of folk culture. From 2003 to 2011 Baumann taught at the University of Salzburg, Department of Communication Studies.

In 1979 his first radio play appeared, in 1982 the first cabaret program. Since then Manfred Baumann has also worked regularly as an author, cabaret artist and director.

In 2007 he founded the trio 'Kultkabarett' with Fritz Messner and Peter Blaikner. So far, three cabaret programs have been created: Bauer sucht Herbst (2007), Waidmann sucht Heil (2009), Meier sucht Verein (2011).

With everyone's death. A Salzburg crime began Baumann 2010, his career as a crime writer of novels about the Salzburg investigators Commissioner Martin Merana. Since then, more detective novels in the series have been published by Gmeiner-Verlag approximately every year . The fourth case of the Dragon Maiden was filmed in 2015 for the ORF country crime television series.
