Manfred Harnischfeger

Manfred Harnischfeger (born July 27, 1944 in Lorsch ; † November 22, 2015 in Bad Godesberg , Bonn ) was a German journalist and public relations worker .

Life

After training as a journalist at the Fuldaer Zeitung , Harnischfeger worked for the Allgemeine Zeitung (Mainz) from 1965 . In 1968 he became press officer of the CDU state office in Frankfurt am Main and a little later press spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group in the Hessian state parliament . In 1972 he switched to business as head of the Bertelsmann press office in Gütersloh , where he became overall head of press and public relations from 1974. During his term of office the establishment of the Bertelsmann Foundation , the establishment of today's Foundation Reading and the reconstruction of the Bertelsmann representative office in Berlin on Unter den Linden 1 all took place .

Harnischfeger left Bertelsmann after three decades and was responsible for global communications for the Deutsche Post World Net group from 2003 to 2009 . From 2010 to 2012 he was acting director of the Beethoven House in Bonn.

Harnischfeger also worked as a professor at the Institute for Culture and Media Management at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater and as a freelance journalist and communications consultant.
