Manfred Kuhn (born October 2, 1931 in Winterlingen , Württemberg ; † June 11, 2011 ) was a German chemist and university professor .

Life

After graduating from high school in Albstadt Ebingen in 1950 , Kuhn studied chemistry at the natural science and mathematics faculty of the University of Freiburg from the 1950/51 winter semester . In 1960 he completed his dissertation there in the field of "physical chemistry". He then worked until 1963 at the Institute for Textile Chemistry at the University of Stuttgart as a research assistant. From August 1963 he worked in the food industry at Unifranck Lebensmittelwerke in Ludwigsburg . In 1973 he became professor of technical chemistry, statistics and general chemistry at the Aalen University of Applied Sciences , and in 1980 he moved to the BPH Esslingen as professor of grain and meat technology. In 1987 he became a professor at the University of Hohenheim . There he built up the grain technology department . On June 9, 1999 he was awarded the Neumann Medal of the Grain Research Working Group.

At the age of 80, Manfred Kuhn died on June 11, 2011 with his family.
