Mankiw (Ukrainian Маньків ; Russian Маньков / Mankow , Polish Mańków ) is a Ukrainian village in the oblast Wolyn . It is located in Lokachi Raion , about 11 kilometers northeast of the district capital Lokachi and about 38 kilometers west of the Oblast capital Lutsk . Administratively, it belongs to the district municipality Cholopytschi, which also includes the villages Cholopytschi (Холопичі) Mowtschaniw (Мовчанів) and Schurawez count (Журавець).
The village did not emerge until the end of the 19th century as a colony / Chutor Mańkowa / Манькова and belonged to the Russian Empire , where it was located in the Volyn Governorate . In 1918/1921 it fell to Poland and came to the Volyn Voivodeship in the Powiat Horochów , Gmina Kisielin . As a result of the Hitler-Stalin Pact , the Soviet Union occupied the area. After the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, the place was under German rule until 1944 (incorporated into the Reichskommissariat Ukraine ), then after the Second World War it was annexed again by the Soviet Union and added to the Ukrainian SSR and has belonged to today's Ukraine since 1991.
