Manuel Einkemmer (born June 23, 2001 ) is an Austrian Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Einkemmer, who starts for WSV Wörgl , made his international debut at the Youth Cup weekend in Harrachov , where he finished second and first. He won his first medal at the Nordic Ski Games of the OPA 2016 in Tarvisio and Villach , winning the school competition. In the following years, the Tyrolean competed regularly in the Alpine Cup . After consistently delivering good results there, he made his debut in the Continental Cup in Klingenthal in January 2018 , where he jumped into the points straight away. At the Nordic Ski Games of the OPA 2018 in Planica , he won the bronze medal in the junior competition behind Johannes Lamparter and Stefan Rettenegger as well as the gold medal with the team. After winning the Austrian youth championship in team sprint in 2017, he became Austrian youth champion in Saalfelden in 2018 in both sprint and Gundersen singles over 10 kilometers . In the 2018/19 season, he started alternately in the Alpine Cup and the Continental Cup . He finished the latter in 61st place overall.

In the summer of 2019 Einkemmer made his debut in Tschagguns in the Grand Prix . With a weak field of participants, he came in 23rd. After starting the winter with a win in the Alpencup in Seefeld , he also showed strong performances in the Continental Cup in January . While he narrowly missed the podium in Oberwiesenthal in fourth and sixth, Einkemmer took third place for the first time in Klingenthal . With these achievements behind him, he was nominated for the national group for the World Cup weekend in Seefeld. Einkemmer made his debut on January 31, 2020 as part of the Nordic Combined Triples in the World Cup and immediately celebrated winning his first World Cup point. In the further course of the season he started again in the Continental Cup, in which he celebrated his first victory at the end of February in Eisenerz, Germany, ahead of the Italians Raffaele Buzzi and Lukas Runggaldier .

Einkemmer attended the Stams ski school , which awarded him the title of Student of the year and a check for 5600 euros in 2018 .
