Manuel Krug (born September 5, 1964 in Baden-Baden ) is a German photographer who specializes in the subjects of cuisine and people .

Life

Manuel Eberhard Krug was the first son of actor Eberhard Otto Krug to be born in Baden-Baden in 1964 . In 1966 the family went back to West Berlin . Krug took an early interest in photography. After graduating from high school, he first studied economics at the Free University of Berlin . After completing his studies, he moved to Hamburg for an assistant position as a photographer. There he learned the craft of the photographer. He worked for various print magazines in the areas of people & lifestyle. In the 2000s, Krug opened a photo studio in Berlin-Kreuzberg .

In 2009, Krug began to incorporate his passion for cooking into his work. His first cookbook was written during a stay of several weeks in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania together with the television presenter Dieter Moor and the cook Sabine Schneider. The pictures from this series were exhibited in 2011 at the International Foodphoto Festival in Tarragona . The Book Art Foundation awarded the Vietnamese cookbook “Monsieur Vuong” the prize for the most beautiful German books 2017.

In addition to cookbooks and related magazines (such as the culinary section in Vinum magazine ), Krug also works for food startups in Berlin.

Manuel Krug lives in Berlin with his wife and three sons.
