Max Moor (actually Dieter Moor ; born May 1, 1958 in Zurich ) is a Swiss television presenter . He holds a diploma from the Zurich Acting Academy and works as an actor , author , reporter , producer and singer in the entire German-speaking region. Because he never liked his first name and wanted to correct his parents' decision, Dieter Moor has been calling himself Max Moor since 2013 . The moderator's fans previously provided numerous suggestions for names.

Life

As Dieter Moor, he grew up in the country as the son of an insurance agent. After school he attended the Zurich Acting Academy and worked as an actor in film and theater. Until 2003 he lived with his second wife Sonja, a film producer, on a small farm in Bäretswil in the Zurich Oberland . In 2003, they decided to seriously pursue agriculture and moved to Hirschfelde (a district of Werneuchen ) near the north-eastern outskirts of Berlin in Brandenburg . Sonja Moor gave up her job as a producer and did an agricultural apprenticeship. Up until 2017, they managed a farm there with biodynamic farming of 70  hectares in accordance with Demeter guidelines and among other things raised water buffalo and Galloway cattle . Together they are committed to their “ Model Village Hirschfelde ” project for “ecological and social togetherness”, but they gave up keeping buffalo. His book Flo und der Schnüffel-Buffel recalls his water buffalo experiences in Brandenburg. His daughter from his first marriage is the actress Miriam Stein .

Career

Moderation

Moors professional career began at ORF , where he moderated the culture magazine Kunst -stücke from 1985 to 1991 . He then worked for ORF as a radio presenter for the call-in program Talk Radio . Dieter Moor became known outside Austria in 1993 as the presenter of the critically acclaimed media magazine Canale Grande on the then still young German special interest broadcaster VOX . The show was a success and was awarded the Telestar , the Golden Gong and the Silver Cable and nominated for the Grimme Prize . His catchy address to the audience as “Dear target group” quickly achieved cult status . After joining VOX in 1994, the concept was continued with Moor as the presenter for one year and 27 episodes under the title Studio / Moor on Premiere , where it was one of the few unencrypted programs there.

For the SWR Moor in 1998 directed the satirical broadcast EX! What aroused the nation about famous scandals in German history. He was present for Swiss television with the daily late-night show Night Moor , or later Moor . Besides the Harald Schmidt Show, the programs were the only daily late-night show in Europe. However, after a public controversy between Moor and his manager over the show's content, the show was discontinued in 1999.

Austrian television he hosted from 2000 alternating with Heide Schmidt , the ATV -Gesprächsrunde Headline Talk and directed the very popular, by ORF but again stepped -Generalreform talk show Simply Moor . In 2004 he produced the regular television gloss Das Wunder von Moor for ARD for the 2004 European Football Championship in Portugal . From July 2006 to September 2006, Moor took over the moderation of the culture magazine Kulturzeit at 3sat as a representative for Andrea Meier . In 2006 he acted as the radio host of LoungeFM radio, which was only received via the web until June 2008 . In 2007, Moor moderated specials and special programs on 3sat, for example for Kulturzeit and in the accompanying program of the Berlinale .

Since 2007, Moor has been presenting the 3sat theme day in 24 hours around the world as a moderator and “ tour guide ” every December . On these theme days, several episodes of the series Treasures of the World will be broadcast in stages.

Since November 4th 2007 he has been presenting the ARD cultural program ttt - titel, thesen, temperamente . At the end of June 2008 he moderated the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize on an interim basis in the ORF regional studio in Carinthia .

In 2008, Moor conducted the program Das Leben geht weiter on the Austrian television station ATV , in which he asked patients why they are in hospital.

Since September 2010 he has been the moderator of the rbb -topic talk in the Palais . The program is broadcast twice a month on Saturdays at 10:15 p.m. on rbb television. He has also been on the road for the rbb since 2009 with the show Bauer sucht Kultur .

His books What We Don't Have You Don't Need - Stories from the Asshole Free Zone (2009) and Lieber Once More Than Several Times Less - Fresh From the Asshole Free Zone (2012) were great successes. Around 400,000 copies of the first book alone were sold. The success of the books prompted Moor to take extensive reading tours through Germany. In June 2017 he published his first children's book, Flo and the Sniffer Buffalo .
