Charisma

The unmoderated 15-minute program has been broadcast on 3sat since April 1, 1995 . The first episode broadcast was " Valletta - the fortress of the Maltese". Repetitions are broadcast on NDR TV , SWR TV , rbb TV , hr TV , Phoenix , ARD-alpha , Tagesschau 24 , EinsPlus , EinsFestival , SRF 1 , SRF Zwei , ORF2 and TW1 . The contributions to the documentary series are also often broadcast within the one-hour program Planet Wissen . Since May 2010, the series has a second slot on 3sat on Sunday evening. The 400th episode was broadcast on December 23, 2012 with the episode “Das Fagus-Werk in Alfeld”.

The program is sometimes broadcast in half-hour double episodes, with the individual episodes beginning with a map with an indication of the location of the world heritage. In addition, some 45-minute special programs were produced that were moderated by Max Moor (Dieter Moor). They deal with a specific topic in which short excerpts from various episodes of treasures from the world are shown. One example is the series "Legacy of the Roman Empire".

foreign countries

The documentary series is broadcast on Finnish television under the title Ihmiskunnan aarteita on YLE TV1 .

In Russia, the station Rossija K shows parts of the series in a loose sequence in a Russian language version. Although the films are shown with the original opening credits, the series title is neither translated nor used in the program announcements. Instead, the films will be announced with the individual subsequent titles.

Treasures of the World is also broadcast on the German international broadcaster DW-TV . In addition to being broadcast in German, the program will also be broadcast in English with the title “Treasures of the World - Heritage of Mankind” and in Spanish with the title “Patrimonio Mundial - Herencia de la Humanidad”.

production

The series was initially produced by the broadcasters ZDF , Südwestfunk and Deutsche Welle , and later produced by SWR . The series is created in cooperation with the UNESCO World Heritage and was initially supported by the European Union's 16: 9 Action Plan, which means that the series has been broadcast in 16: 9 since it began broadcasting.

Some programs renounced the series title "Treasures of the World" and only traded under the name "Heritage of Mankind": Those contributions that u. a. who dealt with Auschwitz, Hiroshima or the apartheid prison island Robben Island could hardly illustrate "treasures of the world".
