action

With the help of an RFID implant in the forearm, everyone's life has become transparent. All areas of society are controlled by the major corporation AETAS . Gabriel is in his 30s and is a subordinate member of AETAS . With the suicide of his grandmother Ruth, he gets caught in the ruthless mill of a surveillance-state-like system. The doctor Dr. Braun orders a transfer from Gabriel to the science center. A neurological examination will be carried out on him there. The boundaries between Gabriel's perception and the possibly staged reality begin to blur in a gripping confusion. Finally, Gabriel manages to escape his tormentors in the science center.

Reviews

“In terms of content and appearance,“ 2012 ”is initially reminiscent of great models such as“ THX 1138 ”,“ 1984 ”,“ Equilibrium ”,“ Aeon Flux ”or“ Die Insel ”. However, Overbeck manages to give his work its own depth with a powerful imagery, rapid cuts, successful special effects and digital animations. Not to be forgotten are the great actors, including well-known actors such as Dieter Moor ("Bloch", "Everything but Sex") and Udo Thies ("Good times, bad times"). "

- The west

“2012” by Marcus Overbeck leads into a cool future in which “deviant behavior patterns” are combated with “psychological behavior patterns”. A visually well thought-out film in cinemascope format, with an elaborate sound design and an ending that I will have to explain to me in the course of the festival. "
