biography

Pleisch comes from the Prättigau in the canton of Graubünden . From December 2005 he took part in FIS races . In February 2007 he started at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Jaca and just missed a medal as fourth in the giant slalom. From January 2008 he was used in the European Cup . At the 2010 Junior World Championships , he again finished fourth in the combined ranking. After scoring the points for the first time in the European Cup at the end of November 2010, he made his debut in the World Cup on December 11, 2010 , but retired in the first round of the giant slalom in Val-d'Isère . He also remained unsuccessful in his four other World Cup appearances in winter 2010/11.

In January 2011 Pleisch was able to win an FIS race for the first time. On December 19, 2012, he stood on the podium for the first time in a European Cup race. He won his first World Cup points on February 24, 2013 with 23rd place in the giant slalom in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . With two more podium places, he secured victory in the giant slalom discipline of the European Cup. At the end of the 2012/13 season he won the gold medal at the World Military Championships in La Clusaz . On December 8, 2013 he drove in the giant slalom of Beaver Creek for the first time in the top 20 in a World Cup race and finished this in 18th place.

On December 14, 2013 at the giant slalom in Val-d'Isère , Pleisch fell so badly that he suffered a fracture of the head of his tibia and had to end his season prematurely. In the first race of the 2014/15 season , the giant slalom in Sölden , he achieved his best result in the World Cup with 16th place; in the second run he achieved the fastest time of the day. Pleisch could not improve further in the World Cup winter 2016/17, and in the European Cup he hardly ever made it into the top ten. After not having played a single World Cup in the 2017/18 season, he announced his retirement from top-class sport in April 2018.
