Manuel José Soares dos Reis (born March 11, 1910 ; † unknown) was a Portuguese football goalkeeper .

Career

In the club

Soares dos Reis began his career at Leça FC , but left the club after just one season. Two years later, he was hired by Boavista Porto and only stayed there for a year. He then moved to city rivals FC Porto , where he stayed until the end of his playing career.

In the national team

Soares dos Reis played four games for the Portuguese national soccer team . He played his first against Spain on March 11, 1934 , on his 24th birthday . It was a qualifier for the 1934 World Cup in Italy , which Soares dos Reis and Portugal lost 9-0.

His next three games were all friendlies against Spain (3: 3 draw), Austria (2: 3 defeat) and Germany (1: 3 defeat).
