Manuel Walser

Manuel Walser (* 1989 in St. Gallen ) is a Swiss concert and opera singer ( baritone ).

biography

Walser studied with Thomas Quasthoff at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin from 2008 to 2014 . From 2014 to 2019 he was a permanent member of the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera . He also appeared at the Salzburg Festival , the Berlin State Opera Unter den Linden and the Opéra de Vichy. He sang recitals at major concert halls across Europe and was accompanied by Akemi Murakami , Wolfram Rieger and Jonathan Ware , among others . As a soloist for baroque works he has performed with Ton Koopman and Thomas Quasthoff and has worked with ensembles such as the Bach Consort , the Concentus Musicus and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra .
