María Mercedes Álvarez Pontón (born July 20, 1976 in Revilla de Camargo , Cantabria ) is a Spanish endurance rider .

She lives in Spain and Dubai ( United Arab Emirates ), where she trains with the Juma's team. Her husband Jaume Punti-Dachs has also participated in international endurance rides and is a trainer. Your gelding Nobby is a thoroughbred Arab born in France in 1995 .

successes

She was with Nobby twice world champion in endurance riding in Terengganu 2008 (individual) and at the World Equestrian Games in Lexington 2010 , again in individual competition. In 2012 she reached 4th place with Nobby at the World Championships in Euston Park , Great Britain . At European Championships she won the gold medal in the individual competitions in Asís , Italy in 2009 and the bronze medal in Baroca d'Alva, Portugal in 2007 .

With Ramses de la Rotja , she won the CEI3 * over 160 miles in Bàscara , Spain in 2014 .

In 2011 she received the Silver Medal of the Royal Order of Sports Merit in Spain.
