Marc Claasen

Marc Claasen (* 1975 in Munich ) is a German singer in the genre crossover and German hits .

Claasen grew up in Munich and has sung in the church choir since he was a child. His singing talent as a soloist was discovered by his choir director. In 1991, at the age of 16, he became a classical student at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich. Marc Claasen was trained in solo singing at the Munich University of Music . He made his debut in the leading role of the opera Orpheus at the Junge Theater Göttingen . After meeting Thomas Quasthoff , Claasen studied another seven years in Hanover with the singing teachers Charlotte Lehmann and Ernst Huber von Contwig, before he appeared as a freelance singer in numerous operas and operettas. He was a soloist on a Christmas tour with the ensemble “Blechschaden” of the Munich Philharmonic and performed a. a. in the Meistersingerhalle Nuremberg and in the Liederhalle Stuttgart .

Claasen's repertoire includes church singing, oratorios, gospel and recitals such as Schubert's Winterreise and Schumann's Dichterliebe . In October 2009, his debut album entitled The Big Dream was released by Warner . In the ARD show The Autumn Festival of Folk Music , from the Erdgas Arena in Riesa , he also presented the single The big dream from his first album in October 2009 .
