Marcel Sigrist
Marcel Sigrist OP (born August 19, 1940 in Bessines-sur-Gartempe ) is a French Roman Catholic priest and biblical exegete and Assyriologist .
Life
From 1950 to 1958 he attended schools in Walbourg and Zillisheim . From 1958 to 1960 he studied at the University of Strasbourg . From 1960 to 1962 he did military service . From 1962 to 1963 he completed the Dominican novitiate in Lille . From 1963 to 1969 he studied at the Dominican faculties Saulchoir. From 1969 to 1972 he studied at the École biblique et archéologique française de Jérusalem . At Yale University he studied from 1972 to 1976 ( doctorate in Assyriology). Since 1976 he has been a professor at the École biblique et archéologique française de Jérusalem.
