Marcel Speyer

Ernst Marcel Speyer (born February 17, 1893 in Nice , France , † unknown) was a German football player .

Career

The footballer's first traces lead to Halleschen FC 1896 , with which Speyer won the Central German Championship as captain in 1917.

Speyer later belonged to Hamburger SV as a defender , for whom he played point games in championships of the North German Football Association in the Alster district of the North German League .

The Victoria - challenge cup for the German football champions from 1903 to 1944 - was won by Hamburger SV for the first time in 1923.

He made his debut on April 17, 1922 against ABTS Bremen (4-0) and took third place with his team in the finals of the North German Championship . With one point ahead of Holstein Kiel , HSV became North German champions. Due to the success Speyer's club was again represented in the final round of the German championship; he himself has not yet been used there. Although Hamburger SV moved into the final against 1. FC Nürnberg and the replay did not produce a winner, the championship title remained vacant, not least because of the fact that his club waived.

As a winner in the Alsterkreis 1922/23 , now in the league class Greater Hamburg, he took part again with the team in the final round of the North German Championship . With the successful qualification game against Borussia Harburg , the successful quarter-final game at Eintracht Hannover and a bye in the semifinals, he moved into the final with Hamburger SV. The final held on April 29, 1923 in the stadium of Eimsbütteler TV against Holstein Kiel was won 2-0. In the subsequent final round of the German Championship 1922/23 Speyer was used in three games. He made his debut on May 13, 1923 in the 2-0 quarter-final victory over SV Guts Muts Dresden . After he and his team also in on May 27, Szczecin discharged semi-final against VfB Königsberg 3: won two, he also came in the final used. Hamburger SV won the final, held on June 10, 1923 in the German Stadium in Berlin in front of 64,000 spectators, 3-0 against SC Union Oberschöneweide .

Speyer's future path is unknown, he no longer competed for HSV.
