Marcel Ulrich
Jacques Marie Marcel Ulrich (born July 2, 1880 in Bar-le-Duc , Meuse department , † August 1, 1933 in Saint-Palais-de-Phiolin , Charente-Maritime department ) was a French engineer.
His parents were the industrialists Raimond Ulrich and Marie-Clémence, b. Voullaume. He graduated from the École polytechnique in 1900 and from the École des Mines de Paris in 1903 .
After Marcel Ulrich was first active in the public service, he switched to the railway company Société générale des chemins de fer économiques in 1911 . During the First World War he served in the field railway and was decorated with the Legion of Honor in 1915 .
In 1919 he came to the management (as administrateur délégué ) of the Compagnie du chemin de fer métropolitain de Paris , which operated most of the lines of the Métro Paris , and of the power companies Société Electrique de Paris and Société d'Electricité et du Gaz du Nord . In 1929 he became Vice-President and in April 1933 President of the Board of Directors of the Compagnie du chemin de fer métropolitain de Paris .
He was also president of various organizations, such as the “Syndicat professionnel français des producteurs et distributeurs” ( Association of French electricity producers and distributors ) and the Association française de normalization . As President of the Union Internationale des Producteurs et Distributeurs d'Energie Electrique (UNIPEDE), he was committed to a European network .
In the 1920s he also became mayor of Montauban ( Tarn-et-Garonne department ). On May 8, 1932 he became a member of the National Assembly (constituency of Montauban) for the Parti républicain, radical et radical-socialiste .
