Marcella Mancini

Marcella Mancini (born September 5, 1971 in Ascoli Piceno ) is an Italian marathon runner .

Although she only started running at the age of 29, she finished sixth in the Rome Marathon in 2:46:01 h in 2001 . A year later she was fourth in Rome, sixth in the Venice Marathon and won the Reggio Emilia Marathon .

In 2003 she won the Maratona di Sant'Antonio , the Ravenna Marathon and came fourth in the Maratona d'Italia . In 2004 she finished fourth in Rome, defended her title in Ravenna and came second in the Florence Marathon . In 2005 she was second in Roma - Ostia , fourth in the Turin Marathon , finished 51st in the World Half Marathon Championships in Edmonton and was fourth in Venice.

As the overall winner of the Maratona di Sant'Antonio 2006, she was Italian champion and qualified for the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg , where she came in 21st.

In 2007 she finished second in the Milan Marathon . In 2008 she won again at the Maratona di Sant'Antonio after a twelfth place in the Paris Marathon . In autumn she finished third in Florence. In 2009 a tenth place followed in Rome and a second at the Maratona d'Italia.

In 2010 she finished fourth in Milan, eleventh at the Prague Marathon and, being sixth overall, she won the national championship title for the second time. In 2011 she won the Milan Marathon , this is her greatest achievement so far.

Marcella Mancini is 1.65 m tall and weighs 51 kg. She is trained by Romano Tordelli and starts for the Runner Team 99.
