Browne was born in Fortaleza and comes from a windsurfing family. Both his father and uncle were multiple Brazilian windsurfing champions. After he windsurfed for the first time at the age of four, he decided to pursue a professional career for twelve years. In 2005, at the age of 16, he took part in a PWA World Cup event for the first time. He promptly won this indoor event in Gent ( Belgium ) and in 2007 he was able to achieve the freestyle world championship with a victory on the Costa Calma and a second place at the Windsurf World Cup Sylt .
After becoming vice world champion the following year, he concentrated more and more on wave riding. As part of this, he moved from his hometown to Maui , Hawaii at the beginning of 2013 and very soon his first great success came - Browne became world champion in 2013 in wave riding. In the years to come he was among the world's best in the wave, even though he was unable to secure another world championship title.
In 2009, Browne starred in Four Dimensions , one of the most lavish windsurfing films of all time.
