Marco Antônio de Mattos Filho or just Marquinho (born July 3, 1986 in Passo Fundo ) is a Brazilian soccer player who is currently under contract with CR Vasco da Gama .
Career
Marquinho began his professional career at Palmeiras São Paulo and made his debut on January 18, 2007 at the São Paulo State Championships . In 2007 he moved to Botafogo FR before signing with Figueirense FC a year later , where he established himself as a regular. In 2009, Marquinho moved to Fluminense Rio de Janeiro , with which he had to fight relegation at the end of the year. On the last day of the match, he scored the goal for his team in a 1-1 draw against Coritiba FC and thus ensured the first class of his team. The following year he won the first Brazilian championship in 26 years with Fluminense .
On January 31, 2012, Marquinho moved to AS Roma on loan for six months and made his debut on February 19 against Parma FC . He scored his first goal on April 1 in a 5-2 win over Novara Calcio . Since he was able to convince during his loan, AS Roma signed him for a transfer fee of three million euros.
On January 31, 2014 he was loaned to the league competitor Hellas Verona until the end of the season. After a stopover on loan from al-Ahli (Saudi Arabia) , Marquinho returned to Brazil in July 2016. He signed a three-year contract with his former club FLU. The club prematurely terminated the contract in early January 2018, at the time Marquinho was curing a knee injury. In early September 2018 Marquinho signed a one-year contract with Athletico Paranaense .
In June 2019 returned to Rio de Janeiro . He signed a contract with CR Vasco da Gama until December of that year.
