Marco Canola (born December 26, 1988 in Vicenza ) is an Italian racing cyclist .

Career

Canola began his international career with the UCI Professional Continental Team Colnago-CSF Inox , for which he won his first international competition with a stage of the Tour de Langkawi . He celebrated his greatest career success to date on the 13th stage of the Giro d'Italia 2014 when he won the three-man sprint of an originally six-man breakaway group, which formed shortly after the start and saved an 11 second lead at the finish.

After two years with the UnitedHealthcare Professional Cycling Team without any particular results, Canola rode for Nippo-Vini Fantini from 2017 to 2019 . During this time he won his first international one-day race with the Volta Limburg Classic 2017 and a race in the hors category with the Japan Cup 2017 . Canola switched to Gazprom-RusVelo for the 2020 season .
